About School of Language & Literature

Established in 2007, School of Language & Literature, KIIT Deemed to be University ministers to the University-wide needs of English and foreign language learning of students. It provides short-term value addition and skill development courses in Communication Skills, Personality Development, Public Speaking, Business Communication, and Spoken English. Besides providing translation services, it also offers training, of foundational nature, in major European and Asian languages. In the Academic Year of 2020-2021, it started Degree Programme in English–B. A. (Honours) and M. A. in English.

Vision

To whet in students an abiding interest in the learning of different languages, hone in their critical thinking and creative expression, encourage research into literature and culture, be a catalyst to the growth of a range of professional skill-sets, foster responsiveness to multiple perspectives, and instill a strong sense of citizenship in fit with cosmopolitanism.

Mission

To impart quality education of global standards by implementing a pragmatic, research-oriented and career-driven curriculum in English language and literature, important European, Asian languages, and Indian languages.
To initiate students into research activities and help strengthen the quality of their research output.
To inculcate students with a humanistic and liberal outlook and also instill in them an attitude of cosmopolitanism that chimes in with community and
national ethics.
To train students in reading, writing, analysis, critical thinking, communication and research of the highest order.
To develop in students skill-sets required for jobs in areas such as teaching, journalism, content writing, and research of interdisciplinary nature.
